About Us
Slava Dance was founded in 2003 by artistic director Natalie M. Kapeluck with its premiere concert in Cleveland, Ohio. The company is known for its poetic and sometimes irreverent movement.

Slava was often featured in MN2 Productions such as Forrest Song and Shadows of our Forgotten Ancestors and has performed at the Pittsburgh Fringe Festival and the Art in a Box series.  In addition, Slava has been a featured performer in dance productions, Generations with the Kyiv Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, 25th Anniversary of the University of Pittsburgh Ukrainian Nationality Room and with Walt Maddox Productions.

The newest project for the company is the Pittsburgh Dance Bomb Project. A collaboration with photographer Ethan Nixon, the dancers and photographer conduct impromptu photo shoots at iconic sites in Pittsburgh that capture the essence of the site. The PDB Project has already shot at Station Square, Market Square and the Waterfront. The culmination of the project will result in a live performance utilizing the images as well as a gallery showing.
